April 2nd, the aircrafts from the IJN carriers Zuikaku,Zuiho,Junyo and Hiryo landed in Kavieng and Rabaul.
The idea of Yamamoto to combine the navy and army planes to launch a big air strike was not proved very successful in the subsequent operation. Lots of valuable Japanese carrier-based aircrafts were lost in the Operation "I-Go" and could not be replenished. Zuikaku and Zuiho had to transfer the remaining planes to Junyo and Hiryo and returned to Japan to replenish. Thereby the number of IJN carriers in South Pacific decreased and the Japanese striking power was weaken.

in Rabaul were waving and greeting to the Junyo aviation team planes, which were landing in Rabaul.
